Recently downloaded a programme , once downloaded scanned the three files contained within for any potential viruses / malware etc and all come back clean , thing is when I went to run one off the files (main installation file ) my antivirus software flagged up that there could be a trojan contained within. just wonder why the av never kicked in the original av scan as opposed to appearing when I actually went to run the file itself ??
was always under the impression that if the downloaded file came back as virus etc clean with a quick av check then that was it safe enough to use but seems not ??!!

Okay mate, using Nod32, appreciatte that your av is only working at its best if it is up to date but but dont see how it being up to date could make a difference bewteen it comming up with a clean scan but kicking ion when you actual attempt to run the installtion folder off the programme ??

perhaps teh executable was packed and or encrypted therefore tha AV may not be able to dectec it and may not deem it a risj if packed and so wont flag it, its only when the code is run and then the code resident in memory is analysed by the on-access scanner that it would see teh potential threat _________________ >>> Aktiv8 <<<
