Hi All,

On the 1st May, I won an ebay auction for an 18 disc DVD box set of 'My Wife & Kids'. I paid via paypal, however the seller acknowledged reciept of money but never sent the goods or responded to e-mails.

As he never replied to my e-mails, he kept listing lots of new stuff, so I created another ebay account and won one of his auctions and told him that I want to buy the item, but can I send him cash via special delivery and lo and behold he gave me his full postal address.

This evening I notice he is now a 'not a registered user'. Now that I have his postal address, I am thinking of writing him a letter...........any ideas on what I should say or how I should word it so that he feels compelled to at least give me my money back or send me the goods.

I have made a claim via PayPal, but I think it is unlikely to go anywhere as the seller said in his recent listings 'I no longer accept paypal'.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Wait on the outcome of the Paypal claim first.

Did you use your card through Paypal? If so contact your card company reference a chrgeback (if the paypal claim fails).

Contact the police, explain and see if they will do anything.

If you have his details then try and find his phone number and ring him and explain that you will be coming down to collect your money/goods unless he processes a refund or sends you the goods. (try a little pshycological pressure).

Send a letter and say it is being passed to your solicitor.

Hopefully the first two will get a result for you.

I'd contact the police right away, same thing happened to my mate, he had his postal address ! gave a statement & the police went knocking on his door the following morning.
