If you go online with a flashed box you take your chances the same as everone else who does it.
If you have the latest iXtreme firmware woulod have thought you would be ok mine is flashed and I go online occassionally. Yes you can play both copies and originals online just dont go online with a game that hasnt been released yet.
As far as I am aware nobody knows exactly how micro$h!te detects flashed machines (may be wrong on this one).
You will need to connect an ethernet cable to your 360 and obviously the net and once you log into live you can create a new account then, you can also buy your live subscription through live but they are cheaper on e-bay.
