after a very quick look on google, most people seem to be saying this -
"The PS3 is worldwide multivoltage, it will take anything from 100V to 240V AC.
Sony have decreed that all Sony PS3 games are region free.
Is does not play UK PS2 games, it does not play UK BD movies.
you don't need a stepdown converter - just use a kettle plug and it'll be fine"
thats from a US ps3 owner. so basically get the correct plug and youre away.
also remember that the video signal will be NTSC not PAL so youll need a tv capable of displaying NTSC, most recent tvs will do it no problem. _________________ Any Backup's you recieve from me is under the STRICT understanding, they are destroyed WITHIN 24 Hours!

apparantly sony always say that they wont work. so im not sure they will be much help. the guy who i got the above quote from also said he had rang sony and they told him it wouldnt work outside the US. they of course want u to buy the UK one. i dont think youre goin to know unless you plug it in
but to answer ur original question u will need at least a 300w stepdown convertor. maybe get a 500w one just to be sure. theres some on ebay for £30. _________________ Any Backup's you recieve from me is under the STRICT understanding, they are destroyed WITHIN 24 Hours!

i think they use a pc psu cable because a lot of people have one lieing around. (ive got at least 3 here somewhere) plus it just seems a little bit safer and tidier than chopping the end off the lead. but yeh, theres no reason why u cant do that and just put a british plug on it. from what i read it should be a 5amp fuse in the plug. anyway sounds like youre doing the cheapest and safiest option, take it apart and have a look.lol. _________________ Any Backup's you recieve from me is under the STRICT understanding, they are destroyed WITHIN 24 Hours!
