it's because there's 2 recognised ways of measuring bytes:
1,000kb per mb, 1,000mb per gb, 1,000gb per tb .......
1,024kb per mb, 1,024mb per gb, 1,024gb per tb .......
the second way is the way the computer calculates space, the first is the 'marketing' method of advertising space (ie. it makes it look like there is more space than what you actually get) _________________ Smug Mac Owner
