The discs sound great, where can you order them in the UK?
Thanks

I just got my discs, thanks for including me in the test.

Both discs were burned on my 1.4 tbird Athlon, using a Pioneer 104.

The first one was written at 2x (max the 104 can do) for the XBox (I have a very fussy XBox that rejects most media) and has worked absolutely flawlessly.

The second was written at 1x (my DVD player doesn't like anything else) with a compilation of Birds of Prey episodes. It worked fine in the XBox, fine on my Pioneer DV-444 and Pioneer LC-10 but not on my Denon 2800 - it recognised the disc, but freezes during play (not surprising, as this is the fussiest player in the world)

Overall a pretty good disc, I will stick to my Ritek 1x while I can get them, as it's the only disc that my Denon consistantly reads, but I'll keep these in mind for other uses.

Thanks!

Disc was tested on 2 PC's & a MP3 compatible DVD player (YAMADA) without any errors.

Quite impressed with the disc in general, the buffer was stable compared to the BULKPAQ TANGO x4. Compatibilty was good & burn time was impressive, with no errors.

Athlon XP 1300, 256 MB ram, 40gig HD, Pioneer 105 DVD burner,Win XP professional

I decided to try ps2 games on these disks cos i have been having problems reading ps2 games in my ps2.

Both dvdrs wrote no probs, except when i was burning on the 2nd dvdr the speed did seem to go up and down quite a lot. Tested them on my ps2 and they seem to play a little better than my other games but not much.

Overall i would say these disks are pretty good, the ps2 games where tested on my m8s newer ps2 and they played without any errors

Thanks for the test again

Apologies in the delay in posting results!

System setup

Duron 1200
512Meg SDRAM
ABIT kt7 Raid mobo
Sony DRU500 DVD Burner
Pioneer 103 DVD ROM
Win XP Pro
60 Gig HDD

I have been awaiting the chance to try these disks, my first try turned out to be a coaster and was totally my fault, trying to burn a movie with rubbish videowave software (or at least it's rubbish when used with my Sony!). I was going to try and burn a movie again on the second disk but found a rather large scratch near the outside of the disk, so, I decided to burn 2.5Gigs worth of Mp3 to the disk using nero, I set it to burn at 2x and it has burnt fine.

The resultant disk read fine in my DVD ROM. Overall I can say I am perfectly happy with the disk - the only downside is the scratch on the surface of the disk - but this won't put me off from purchasing these disks in the future and I would recommend them.

Thanks for the opportunity to test

Burner: Sony DRU500A with 2.0f firmware
Players: Sony DRU500A, Pioneer DVD116 with hacked (RPC1=RegionFree) 1.09 firmware, Pioneer DV626 Player
Software: Nero 5.5.10.35 , Nero CD Speed 1.02g

Received 2 discs, both in poor condition, both fairly badly scratched due to the flaps on the plastic sleeves not being folded over and tucked in, therefore allowing the discs to partially slide out. A pity, because the discs were quite pleasing in appearance and I was looking forward to testing another brand of 4-speed disc.

Tried burning a 4.3 GB movie from a HD image to both disks using Nero with 4x selected, also verify selected.

Both discs apparently started to burn at 4-speed but I could not confirm this as they both failed during the burn at different points, obviously due to the scratches.

Didn't bother trying to play them, archived them in the bin.

Thanks for the opportunity to test, but it was a wasted exercise due to poor packaging.

01ne DVD-R

A bit slow to try them, my apologies, my 104 becamse a coaster machine until I sorted a problem with Master/Slave cabling. Unfortunately it took out one of the 01ne disks too. But I made sure it was 100% before moving to the second disk:

Pioneer 104 firmware 1.32.
Used Nero 5.5.10.42 with a known good file set.

Recorded fine, though allowed only 1X rather than 2X I might have expected.

Resulting disk played perfectly right to the end, on my Pioneer DV525 standalone player, as well as my DVD-Rom drive on the PC. More succesful than the Bulkpaq one I tried a while back that wouldn't play on my DV525.

Nicely presented disk with an interesting logo. Only complaint would be that they disks were quite scratched, but I'm sure this wouldn't apply to volume production.

A good one.

Colin

Thanks for the discs guys.

Burned them at 2 speed on my a05,both with full dvd movies.
Both discs play back faultlessly on my 2 standalone players, also on xbox.
They seem like they are pretty good quality, If they are reasonably priced, I will consider buying some soon.

O1ne test review

Apologies for the delay but have been upgrading my PC!!

Finally got to burn the DVD-R's last night:-

PC - P4 2.2
Burner - Pioneer DVR104
OS - Windows XP
Software - Nero (latest v)

Disc 1 - Burnt an MP3 data DVD - using Nero - burnt at 2x - absolutely no problems at all - only thing I would say is it's very easy to see loads of fingerprints on these! Just a cosmetic thing really!

Disc 2 - Burnt Hulk PS2 game backup - extracted the ISO from the original - burnt using Nero at 1x - would not play at all in PS2 (Messiah modded) - also tried in two other modded PS2's but same result.

Overall then, think I'll stick to Datawrite but perhaps was just a bad ISO or bad disc.

Thanks again for the chance to test these - don't think I'll be buying any, but you never know, for the right price.........

Cheers,

Paul.

Just back off holiday and picked up these disks to test. Don’t know whether I have got a bad batch but both disks had light scratching and one had fingerprints but I suppose that they have been split from a multipack and therefore have had extra handling.

I am using Nero 5.5.10.7 and a Sony DRU500 for PC burning and a Panasonic DMRE50 for TV burning.

Test one was a retail DVD video rip that was around 4.2 gig. Everything set off well writing at 4 speed until I got 25% and then I got a burn failure that seemed to be caused by a flaw in the disk.

Test 2 was a PPV DVD burn on the DMRE50 with bit rate set to SP. The film lasted 1hr 52 mins and recorded without a glitch. Once finalised it played back on all my DVD players in the house without a flaw.

I can’t really rate the disk because the damage in transit seems to contribute to the burn failure and only the nastiest discs have failed to perform in the DMRE50.

No excuses..I have only just got round to using them.. Embarassed
used Sony Dru 510 for first DVD.. copied 28 Days for backup using 123 Studios . Burnt second DVD using Nero V5 with same results.
Results. Played on Ronan, Mustek, Phillps R/W and Panasonic E30 (early model) R/W machines. No problems on any of them..
Played back via computer. Again.. no problem..
Sorry I have no numbers for the machines as I tried them on other peoples apart from the Phillips and Panasonic.
Rolling Eyes
Hope this helps

O1ne

I Have ONLY Just received the DVD's this morning (11.07.03)...Bloody Royal Mail!!!

First glance said that they looked ok, not a scratch in site.
Some thumb prints, but thats about it!

I Have just burnt two DVDR films, and both are fine...Burnt at 4x on Pioneer 105, original Firmware.

The disks both read on my S.O.B dvd player (Oritron) which doesn't normally play back up DVD's!

Well i'm happy with them, so much so, i'm planning on buying some soon!

Many Thanks For the Teasers!!!

Rob
