Hes playing what looks like 4-5-1 because they have no strikers that link attack, the midfielders hes using do not get up and support quick enough for the system to work, Pavylechenko works his socks off, but its no good without the 2 wide midfielders joining in.
the backline will be ok once Hutton and Bale play regular, King should just be used in Europe, as Corluka in cup tied,
what he really needs to do is drop Jenas and play a midfield like this

That way he'd have 2 midfielders who could mix it a bit in front of deffence with Modric behind a striker floating anywhere and 2 wide players, he just forgot to Buy someone like Diarra to play the system, lol, if Modrics off form stick GDS in there.

Ramos has only been here for a season, he has to learn what the league is all about, wether he'll get the time is another matter, me personally, i'd stick Venebles in as director of football, he knows how the system works, Commolli has been a scouting failure for 2 seasons now and should not have allowed robbie to leave without his replacement signed and sealed first.

Yep i agree, not because of the results as we have gone on crap runs over xmas period just like this, but the fact there isnt much fight in them, no strikers who can link anything. and what would we have won anyway we werent a top 4 team, thats just tabloid talk, we have 3 cups to go for and try to get in the top 6, think we'll go out in Poland this week, they are a really good team that we were drawn against, plus the scousers coming to town in the carling cup, doesn't rain but it poors, they really just gotta grind a few results out.

i think that for a start, he is not playing his best side.
Gomes is shaky but only reasonable goalkeeper.
Back line of Hutton/Corluka , Woodgate, Dawson/King, Bale/Assou
actually looks ok but i think it changes nearly every week, which really doesnt help.
I think one player who hardly gets a look in, that really should is Dos Santos, he is amazing for Mexico and was being kept out of Barca side by Bojan, Henry and Eto'o, but cant get in at Spurs?
I think the team should be
Gomes
Corluka, Woodgate, Dawson (King when fit), Bale
Zokora
Modric Jenas
Bentley Dos Santos
Roman
Zokora to help out defence, and be a ball carrier. Jenas and Modric are both good distributors of the ball. Dos Santos and Bentley to play wide and help out Pavlychenko whenever they can. Whichever side the ball is the other winger makes up the 2nd striker.
